Do you get the feeling that all of those make money online programs are kind of scammy? I sure do, I have been reviewing these types of offers for over three years looking for legitimate work at home job opportunities.

Fortunately, aside from all of the scams there are ways for an honest person to actually work at home making money online. And there is no need to spend a fortune to get started.

The way to build a successful, honest, and long term online business from home starts with identifying a method that provides actual value to people who are looking to buy something. It really is not hard to do this the right way and be totally honest about it.

Your first clue that you have found a legitimate work at home job is that whoever is selling or promoting it is not making outlandish claims about fast, easy money. If they admit that the job is actually going to take some work, that is a good first step.

There are many work at home jobs that are honest work, but I prefer one that allows you to make as much money as you are willing to work for, and is not limited to the number of hours in a day that you have to give up your time for.

Put another way, why not perform work, in the comfort of your own home, that will pay you over and over again for a long time to come; i.e., consistent, recurring income? Making phone calls or stuffing envelopes is alright if you can stand that kind of work, but you only get paid (a small amount) for each hour you work.

The internet provides so much more to people willing to work from home with their computer. Article marketing, for instance, takes no special skills and just a little bit of help and guidance to get going and making an online income.

Creating articles that provide value to people looking to solve a problem or get information about a product or a service is just such a job. Articles sit out on the internet forever and have the potential to generate income for you that whole time.

Does this sound like a legitimate work at home job to you? I will define it a little more:

1) First, find a product or service that you either use or have interest in and do a little research. Then, simply tell others what you have found. Hire out the actual writing if you want to.

2) Second, look for a vendor of just such a product or service willing to share with you a commission for helping customers find them. This part is usually very easy.

3) Third, use some free tools to determine how others are seeking out that information.

4) Last, connect the dots by targeting the way people are searching to the information you have gathered and provide it to them. Work steadily and persistently and watch your online income grow.

Naturally this is just an overview of the process and if you are new to it you do need some additional guidance to actually start making money online this way.

The easiest way to get this information is by watching video of a successful work at home person going through each of the steps in sequence. In just a couple of days you can be through the entire set of videos and actually be making money online.

Working From Home | Make Money Online

As Work at Home Moms, we talk about our “Why” as a positive thing. Our “Why” is our purpose, our reason, our muse. We refer to our ‘Why’ when we need inspiration or motivation to reach outside our comfort zone, to try a little harder, to keep going even when it’s hard. Our ‘Why’ helps us to succeed.

Today I was asking “Why work from home” in a slightly different tone. Today, I am home with a sick puppy and am up to my eyeballs in puppy puke.

I’m new to this puppy thing. I was warned up and down about how much work a puppy is, and I thought “I have two children. How hard can a puppy possibly be?!” Well, one difference is that newborn babies aren’t born with fangs — at least mine weren’t. So, in between changing the gauze patches on my shredded arms (those teeth are sharp!), and hours of puppy school, I fell in love with this furry beast. He was added to my list of “Why’s”.

So, today, while I was composing my work at home mom newsletter, in the background I hear my furr-ball start to vomit — again. The thought that ran through my mind initially was not a happy “Why”. It was more like:

* “WHY in the world am I home to deal with this while my husband gets to sit in a quiet office all day?”

* “WHY isn’t HE dealing with cleaning up the 8th pile of yucky stuff?”

* “WHY don’t I get any peace and quiet while I work?!”

After I cleaned up the puppy, rubbed his head and got him clean blankets, threw in another load of laundry, and climbed into bed with my sick 7 year old and my 3 year old to read stories, I had time to collect my thoughts. A little bit (ok, a LOT) of puppy puke was sure worth it

And, later, when I made my phone call to my husband to tell him about our day, it wasn’t the puppy-puke I was telling him about….

I told him how our daughter said that she wanted to plant some jelly beans to grow a jelly bean tree. And, how the kids were playing the game of Life and I overheard their rules. They decided that the person who got the most parents into the car won. That’s why I stay at home.

And, if a furry little tail starts wagging when I walk into the room? Well, that’s sure an added bonus.

So, the next time your warm and loving “Why” turns into a plea for help, take a deep breath and think of all the memories you would be missing — both good and not-so-good, if you weren’t a work at home mom.

Stories of people looking for real solutions to making their dreams come true

Everybody has a dream whether it’s traveling the world, spending more time with family and friends, helping loved ones recover their health, or supporting organizations whose work you value. We all have them. The question of why some people realize theirs is what we’re looking at in these interviews. When you read the accounts of other people looking for freedom from the endless workplace and mountains of debt that keep you just getting by, ask yourself how you would answer the questions. You may discover that you’re in the market for a real solution and ready to move toward your goals.

Janice is a language teacher living abroad down-under with her Australian husband. She loves teaching but wishes she had more money so she could spend even more time outside on her bike or in the water- anywhere in the world. And more time with her family in the states.

What do you like about your work? I like helping my students succeed what ever their personal goals.

What would you change if you could? I wish I made a lot more money! And could work from home. Or anywhere for that matter.

Why is that important to you? I like to travel. I live half way around the world from my family so it would be nice to have the freedom to work from anywhere. Making money online is an attractive option because you could work from anywhere but I haven’t really explored this too much. I’m a browser and music person but not a techie.

How does it make you feel not having that flexibility? A little frustrated. I don’t feel like I have the ability to make a lot of money in my profession no matter how much I like the work. I’ve always considered that my husband’s success will be the golden egg that makes our dreams come true. (I don’t think I realized that until I just told you. But that’s how I feel right now.) I am interested in opportunities where I could be making a real contribution to our family income.

What would you do if there were nothing stopping you? I feel like I’m doing what I can by supporting my husband’s ventures. If I could actually make a lot of money working from home, I would look hard at the opportunity and see if it fit with my lifestyle and values.

If you’re like Janice and you’re looking for a way to change your present situation so you too can get what you want, you might consider a residual income business. Residual income businesses continue to provide an income even when you are not. These opportunities come in a variety of forms- multi-level marketing, network marketing, house parties, affiliate marketing, etc. Whether you’re looking to make money online or off (or both), you could find an opportunity to work in the exploding wellness industry with a residual income business.

You too can make your dreams of optimal health and wealth come true while being of service to your family and community. Discover a real solution and move toward your goals of making money working from home, for yourself.

There are plenty of different ways to make money from the comfort of your own home. One good way is by taking online surveys. Many companies are willing to pay a wide cross-section of people to give their thoughts and opinions on particular products and services. Most people who do online surveys do it for extra money since it is very hard to earn enough to live on just by doing surveys. You often see advertisements on the internet saying something like ‘online surveys make money work at home’ and many people wonder if it really is so easy to make a few dollars. Personally I quite like filling in surveys and used to do them for free, so it makes sense to complete them for money!
There are plenty of scams online so you need to be careful. A company asking you to pay any kind of fee should make you wary, especially if there is no company address or phone number on their website. You can check with the Better Business Bureau if you are suspicious. Most of the largest survey companies let you join for free so there is little point paying to join something which might be a con. Some online survey companies charge $50 for membership and promise ‘up to $125 per survey’ – as if any company is going to be paying hundreds of people that much each to fill in surveys. They would go out of business!
I work for a couple of different companies who offer surveys. They tend to be about mainly about computing and electrical products for some reason and you have to fill in the first few questions to see if you are a suitable candidate for that particular survey. If they say no, maybe they already have enough people of your age or from your area. Sometimes it depends which area you live in, your marital status or your job. You can expect to make anything from 50 cents to $5 for taking a survey. It might not sound a lot but if you do one a day, that is an extra $150 to look forward to at the end of the month. Some survey companies pay by PayPal, others by check or directly into your bank account. Nearly all of them pay at the end of the week or month or when you have a minimum and you request it, rather than after every completed survey.
You have to register on the survey sites and answer questions about your job, marital status, children, pets, eating habits, leisure activities you enjoy and more. This is so they can match surveys to the right applicants. Sometimes you might get sent 3 surveys in a day, other times a week might go by without receiving anything. Sometimes you are emailed a link to a survey but by the time you get there they do not need you, so if you are taking surveys check your email frequently to make sure you don’t miss out!
It is worth joining a couple of survey companies online to make a bit of extra money and for something to do. So, the next time you see the ‘online surveys, make money, work at home’ advert, it might be worth clicking on it!
