Everybody has a dream whether it’s traveling the world, spending more time with family and friends, helping loved ones recover their health, or supporting organizations whose work you value. We all have them. The question of why some people realize theirs is what we’re looking at in these interviews. Janice is a language teacher living abroad down-under with her Australian husband. She loves teaching but wishes she had more money so she could spend even more time outside on her bike or in the water- anywhere in the world. And more time with her family in the states.

What do you like about your work? I like helping my students succeed what ever their personal goals.

What would you change if you could? I wish I made a lot more money! And could work from home. Or anywhere for that matter.

Why is that important to you? I like to travel. I live half way around the world from my family so it would be nice to have the freedom to work from anywhere. Making money online is an attractive option because you could work from anywhere but I haven’t really explored this too much. I’m a browser and music person but not a techie.

How does it make you feel not having that flexibility? A little frustrated. I don’t feel like I have the ability to make a lot of money in my profession no matter how much I like the work. I’ve always considered that my husband’s success will be the golden egg that makes our dreams come true. (I don’t think I realized that until I just told you. But that’s how I feel right now.) I am interested in opportunities where I could be making a real contribution to our family income.

What would you do if there were nothing stopping you? I feel like I’m doing what I can by supporting my husband’s ventures. If I could actually make a lot of money working from home, I would look hard at the opportunity and see if it fit with my lifestyle and values.
